This was a very cute book. I loved meeting all the brothers, and the parents of what sounds like the most fun ranch ever. I enjoyed Jaxi and Blake's Story and I am even more interested in Travis' story. I also want to know what happens with Matt and Helen, though I do admit I don't like Helen so much. I will definitely read more of this series, and author.

10/2021 - The ebook is free on most platforms. It's also only $1.99 to add audio via whispersync.

6/2020 - It's so weird that I have such mixed feelings about a book that I've read this many times. I don't know if it's because my "discernment" or "criteria" about books have changed over the years. Perhaps it's just that I really love some parts, but there are a few things that just kinda sit poorly with me - I'm not really sure.

I own the ebook, but am in a serious "I just want to listen to stuff I know I'm going to like" slump so checked out the audio from my library because I pretty consistently enjoy Tatiana Sokolov's narrations. These books are best read in order as they each build off events from previous books. Also, "Rocky Mountain Haven" (book 2) runs somewhat concurrently with this book but has spoilers for book 1..

I'm a big fan of May/December romance and sort of adore the fact that 21yo Jaxi has been in love with 31yo Blake since she was 10. She knew she was too young and spent *years* working toward becoming a ranch wife because she knew that's what he'd want/need. Listening to Blake try to continue to deny that Jaxi is all grown up is kinda fun.

Pehaps slightly spoilerish? Unfortunately, while waiting Jaxi dates Travis and then to make Blake jealous Jaxi has a physical interaction with the youngest brothers - twins Joel & Jesse. It feels manipulative and gross instead of cute or whatever.

Once Blake & Jaxi get together it's more enjoyable. Through conversations and a few chapters from Matt's POV, we definitely get to know all the Six Pack Colemans as well as some of the cousins. There's multiple hot & descriptive sex scenes with Blake & Jaxi as well as a MFM menage (with Matt, his girlfriend, & Matt's cousin Gabe).

The little epilogue is adorable - but I almost wish it was at the beginning as a prologue, because I think what could have been the funniest thing about it was spoiled by the fact that you already know what's coming. (Yeah, I know that probably doesn't make much sense unless you've read it.)

I enjoyed Sokolov's narration. She uses this subtle Canadian accent that continues to remind the listener of where we're at without overpowering the narration. The only issue is that with so many male characters regularly speaking/interacting - she kind of runs out of ways to differentiate them.

Spicy romance, HEA. Start of a series, involving spicy stories from multiple characters.

I really liked this story. I can appreciate the values and the age difference that feels like a hurdle to him, and I love how she breaks him down bit by bit. Great story, and the pool hall teasing scene was really f-ing hot!

I like a lot of this story but I really had a hard time with the weird incestuous I kind of had a thing at some point with EVERY SINGLE BROTHER IN THIS FAMILY part of the book. Idk, that just felt super weird and gross. Once you get past that though the story itself is fun, sexy, and sweet.

At first I didn't think I would like it, but I kept listening, and I really did like it. Now I want to read about the rest of the brothers.
