3 stars for Jason Todd. He gets to shine in this one, essentially main hero saving Batman. Batman is drugged by the cult leader uses guns, I really hated that.

An interesting Batman story, and one that actually foreshadows what some writers would do with the character several years later. Starlin really writes a good Batman, and the story is more than just the usual fisticuffs. The art, by the brilliant Bernie Wrightson, is eerie and matches the dark subject matter.

Recommended.

Deacon Blackfire is dorky as hell and the latter half of this book was hilariously stupid. That said, it's a story with Jason Todd as Robin and those aren't common given how he turned out.

Also Bernie Wrightson's art is fantastic as always.

Picked up this series at Tricon. Considering these were the first Batman comics I've actually read, I enjoyed the dark plot line.
