Just as I expected, Stephen Graham Jones knocked it out of the park again. Jade is an incredible character, and I'm looking forward to reading the next two books to spend even more time with her. I took off half a star because I got really attached to a side character and never even got to learn his name, and that is an unforgivable sin.

my favorite book of the year, this or stone cold fox are top 2 contenders this was absolutely phenomenal literally one of the best books I will ever read and it will always stick with me and I will be ordering the next one soon. This is a very hit or miss book for people and I see why, and I usually dont like slasher books so I am shocked at how much I fell in love with this book and just know its nothing short of an all time favorite book for me!

While Jade (MC) is annoying and a little hard to follow, she's an awkward traumatized teenager. It really hooks in at the end, creating an exposition for the series.

Quería que me gustara lamentablemente lo encontré innecesariamente confuso.
Muy lento, pasamos todo el libro con Jade, quien es la paria del pueblo, no se habla con casi nadie incluyendo los personajes más importantes del libro, así que nunca sentí que conocía a Letha, Theo, el señor Holmes o incluso a su papá.
El final es una cosa rarísima sin pies ni cabeza.
No descarto leer la segunda parte en algún momento de mi vida, pero las expectativas están por el suelo.

Personally, not into Jones’s writing style. I feel like it takes twice as long to read his books because you have to re-read each sentence to try and figure out what he is really trying to say. For Only Good Indians, it wasn’t worth it. For this one, I would say it was. Loved the plot, and the last few chapters really got me. Great October read, especially for slasher movie fans.
