Outstanding fantasy book, very fast paced with lots of in depth character development. Its very battle focused and the story is fantastic.
Well written but definitely not my style. Incredibly long read for something I was not into at all.
Picked it up bc I saw an exercept from it on one of my femdom tumblr blogs but it wasn't that good jusy about devotion to a queen and I don't think getting thru this world building dump is worth that cause otherwise it's too male focussed for me to care to begin with so sorry I gave it a very fair shot

Now this is my favorite fantasy book…I know I know. I don’t read high fantasy but now I’m invested! This was adventurous, hooked me right from the beginning as well as my buddy in the buddy read! I felt for Tau, Zuri and Jabari. I flew through this book!
The audiobook narrator is phenomenal.

I enjoyed this book immensely. I had been in a loooong reading slump and this book broke that. I could not put it down. It has all the elements I love in fantasy. Give me a good progression story and you got me. It reminded me so much of Lindon in cradle series.
The only thing I did not like was, for such a matriarchal society, women really did not appear anywhere, in matters that count. I would have loved to see more women playing significant roles

Book has themes I enjoy. Perseverance through great adversity. A bit different take on a fantasy world and an interesting plot. I liked the protagonist and other characters. Occasionally some parts were perhaps a bit too wordy but overall I enjoyed it quite a bit.
