Incredible high fantasy novel. The setting was unique but loved the familiarity of a coming of age meets revenge and revolution trope. Can’t wait to read book 2!

How many times can you talk about training and your sword. I usually like combats and fantasy but this felt so one toned and was the same story told over and over again (remember karate kid?). The magic system was cool but not spoken about enough or explored. And it was mostly men and hardly any women the whole time. Ughhhh
