I have a vivid memory of my best friend and I discussing how weird we thought this book was shortly after it was released when we were in grade four. I wonder what I would think about it today.

My least favourite out of the trilogy but still really good
TELL ME WHY I was literally sobbing when Shade sacrificed himself for Griffin it actually broke my heart because I thought they'd both survive ðŸ˜
Only bad thing is that Goth survived and got to go back to the living world not fair 🥲

This was cool, and weird. When Shade has a kid of his own, Griffin, he is sucked into Hell, or something like it, by an earthquake. So Shade has to go and find him, before Griffin dies, or the hole closes up, or a dead bat sucks his life force away from him. There are many ways to die and live in this book. And Griffin finds his friend that he accidentally killed with fire. So they try to get out. And Goth is down there too, because he died in the end of the second book, but his death-life sucks, so he hunts down Griffin to go back to life. Good book, like the series, but I wished that Shade didn't have to die. That was the worse, but their must be a twist in the book somewhere.
