This is a graphic novel adaption of the script from the tv-series and corresponding episode "A Study in Pink". It doesn't add or subtract from the original plot at all, I think it might actually follow the tv script to the dot (except for the comments about the skull maybe?). That does mean that reading the novel is merely like watching the tv-episode once again. Even so, I enjoyed seeing the show in a new format. The emotional expressions so characteristic of manga suit the story well and add an extra level of humour. The novel is well drawn and captures the actors in the tv-series.

It just the first episode of BBC Sherlock but drawn/reformatted frame by frame. Which when I don't think about that fact, makes it enjoyable. But when I do think about it, it makes the volume annoying. Like yea, go and get your very obvious cash grab BBC. Granted, it does make me a wee bit of a hypocrite as there are manga produced after the anime. There's even been manga made after video games. Guess I'm conflicted about it all.

Just awesome! I love Sherlock Holmes TV series very much and the manga artist was skillful. The looks of Benedict Cumberbatch and the essence of Sherlock Holmes were neatly captured! Every character was easily recognisable. I am almost sad that I have already seen the show and thus remember the plot :(

Read this for the 24 Hour TBR Knockdown. A word for word manga edition of the BBC Sherlock episode - A Study In Pink. Huge fan of the show and had a great time experiencing the story in this format. This is one manga collection I am going to keep up with. I feel like it's going to pull me back into the world of manga, I had so many nostalgic feelings while reading the story in this format. My friends and I were avid readers of anything manga in middle school.
