This is a book about Ramsay's childhood, growing up and developing first business. A really good read.

I am a Gordon Ramsay fan, so I was excited to read his memoir. This memoir didn't do it for me. I think my apathy for this book stems from the fact that I have recently read his other book Roasting in Hell's Kitchen: Temper Tantrums, F Words, and the Pursuit of Perfection. Humble Pie seems to be a watered-down choppier version.

Fans of Gordon Ramsey will love this book.

Quick read -- literally, 90 minutes! But just kind of rambly and stream of consciousness. Enjoyable enough, and it won't take up much of your life. But just kind of meh.

I really enjoyed listening to Gordon Ramsay's life and becoming a chef seemed like some hard ass work I know for a fact I could not deal with....

I truly liked this book a lot until he started talking about what he thinks makes a good chef and who he would hire (i.e not people who want to have a normal life outside of work) but we can disagree on what makes someone a good worker. And the bit about never having changed a kids nappy... Seriously??

But overall, I feel a bit more like I understand Ramsay's work ethic and lifestyle a bit more (even if this book is over a decade and a half old and I'm sure a newer one is needed!) and empathised a lot with him.

Entertaining.  Informative.  Easy to read.
It keeps your interest from the beginning to the end.
<Endured an absolute awful childhood and succeeded through hard work and persistence.>
Sexist speech spotted in a few lines.

Very amazing insight into the man himself...very heartfelt and emotionally written. Really really enjoyed this book!
