This is a great feel good holiday short story. This is the second work I've read from this author, and I love how well she develops her characters. It's easy to fall in love with Cal and Philip, and their story was easily relatable. I'm excited to read more by Posy Roberts.

Wonderful story about family, acceptance and love. I loved the warmth of the characters. I would love to read the backstory of Cal and Phlip.

Very sweet. This story had a lot of things that I loved...an introverted and sweet main character, a large family, some emotion and angst, and the warm feelings evoked by holidays.

Calvin is really sweet, and I totally related to his feelings through most of the story. His emotional turmoil over coming out, and dealing with a large family as an introvert, are very similar to my own experience. His boyfriend, Philip, is amazing and wonderful in all the best ways, and I love how supportive he is for Calvin, despite his subtle frustration with keeping their relation hidden for so long.

All in all, a good story, and while it might sound a little fluffy, there's quite a bit of meat in there...my only complaint is that I wish we had gotten to know the family a little more, but with a short story that can be hard. :)

Lovely story, I loved how Philip took care of Cal. And the snowball fight, hilarious!

A lovely little story in the DSP Advent Calendar event series.
I started off thinking it was a nice tale, of Cal coming home at Christmas with a secret to share and all the homely, Christmassy, family feel goods.
It just got better as it went on, a perfect fireside read! Well written, fast paced, compete and felt like a longer story.

Feathers From The Sky is a great holiday short story. The love in that small house with so many people crammed inside was obvious. Posy Roberts did a great job of writing at least a little something about all of Calvin’s siblings and more about his parents. In such a short story, to know so much about each character is rare.

Similar to the last story I read, but actually packs a lot of emotion into a small space. Believable fear of bi-erasure that meant he had to sort of come out twice.

This is a lovely story of an established couple coming out to one set of parents over the Christmas. Cal's family is big and boisterous and poor Cal finds them overwhelming. But there is a lively and welcoming family dynamic and I had no doubt that everything should be fine when Cal made his big reveal.
There's a fun snowball fight and know it all brothers, walks in the snow and (emotionally) revealing photos.

I really found this pretty adorable. I loved the characters and the family was cute without being annoying. The minimal drama was understandable. The "marriage" talk in this story was more tolerable, less of a must and more a want. Basically a real cute holiday story about growing up and owning who you are.
