The plot was ridiculous, but the writing was so good that I seriously considered taking a day off just to finish this book. So how could I not give it five stars?

There was a lot to love about this story. The feelings Emma had after Jesse's accident are described well. They seem realistic and the pain of grief rings true. On the other hand, the speed at which the character moved on to her new love interest was heartwarming, but seemed too fast for me. Experiencing deep grief and trying to come to terms with the depth of grief she experienced isn't something that would be gotten over that soon. In spite of Sam's likability and their love for each other, I found myself dissatisfied at the ending. While the author's premise makes some sense, it seems like a quick solution to the problem. I did like the story and the characters, just wish it could have been a bit different, even though it's an impossible situation.

I loved this! The story felt different from usual romances because you didn’t actually know how it would end. It was a sweet book with a unique concept - can’t ask for much more than that!

I enjoyed this book. It was a quick and easy read but also heartbreaking. I loved the main character and watching her growth over the 300+ pages. Taylor Jenkins Reid truly develops great characters.

TJR always hits. Her books are so profound and you can tell she writes with a purpose each time. And her purpose for this one made me cryyy

"Just because something isn't meant to last a lifetime doesn't mean it wasn't meant to be.

TJR has done it again!

I was so excited about this concept and thought about what I would do in that position before I started reading. I didn't figure it out...

I'll be honest, I was team Sam since the first page. I don't know why, but I never really cared for Jesse. Maybe in my head I already knew she'd end up with Sam and just was a little biased. The book is a tad bit predictable, but that doesn't make it less great. I love the journey we went on with Emma. Her character really developed so much, and I am very proud of her. She was truly put in an impossible position, and I think she handled it as well as any person would under those circumstances.

Can we just agree though that Jesse was a jerk when he came back? I know he went through a lot of traumatising stuff and all, but being so entitled on having her back as if her life didn't also change? Made me like Sam even more. He was so selfless with her.

Evelyn is still my favorite book of TJR's, but this was a very fun, emotional and thought provoking book. Lot's of inspiring quotes and life lessons (but it's TJR so are we surprised?)

Would re-read it for sure <3

OMG what an absolutely wonderful and incredible book!!!! I literally could not put this down. I DEVOURED it in one afternoon. This is the first book that has actually made me understand why people highlight and underline sentences and phrases in books. I cried through most of it and still can't stop thinking about it. What a book!!!
