Oh my Lordy Jesus. I loved this book so much. It was so easy to read and so well written it really had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. I’m so excited to continue with the sequel. And I can’t wait to see what happens next.

I enjoyed this book up until the ending where it was such an obvious setup for a hunger games style trilogy. The basic story was pretty interesting and the setting for this was a nice take on the dystopian style story. There was a slight twist for characters that came near the end and sequel set up that I think the author held close to the vest pretty well.

“Everything's science fiction until someone makes it science fact.”

I enjoyed this novel SO much!!! I felt a bit like a kid in a candy store while reading this, it has so many things that I love to read about crammed into one book! We have a cool futuristic world with beyond fascinating VR, fun video game stuff and references, and an epic competition taking place in one of my favorite cities on the planet, what more could a girl ask for?

I think, for the most part, the story was pretty fast-paced and very fun with lots of exciting moments. There were certain parts that I wish were done a bit better, like the main romance for instance, I think it should have progressed a bit slower, and they should've had more scenes dedicated to them actually becoming friends first, instead of having them automatically start going out. It felt a little rushed to me, but I still liked some of their moments together, and thought they were cute.

As for the ending, well
SpoilerI must admit that I hadn't quite expected Hideo to be the "bad guy", I do appreciate that he has a semi good reason for what he's doing, and that he has lots of room to see the error of his ways and return to the good side (at least I hope that's what'll happen). I did however 100% guess that Zero was actually Sasuke. What can I say? I guess I read too many YA novels XD

This book was really awesome, and I'm hoping that the sequel will be just as good, if not better.

BRILLIANT!!

now that I have finished it I can say that I was completely into this book around the page 30, and that marks how good this book, there is rarely books that one get really into them before the half of the book pages...

" my heart suspended somewhere between one choice and another, unsure where to go next."
I think this sentence was a really good way to conclude this book, that this is was the result after all the things that had happened!

Warcross, one of the best books ever that I have read until today, I will definitely read the last book in the series!!
Marie Lu my first time reading a book she wrote and I have found her writing honest and easy to relate with! I have become officially a fan of hers!

** loved this book and I really hate spoilers!!

this books was… not what i thought it’d be, i guess. i certainly enjoyed it, and i do plan on reading the sequel, i just found that i had certain expectations in place going into the book that were wildly wrong, and that’s more my own fault than anything!
even without those expectations, though, this book was lacking in many places and proper characterization is the one most annoying to me. i read books primarily for characters, secondarily for the plot, and this book 100% prioritized things the other way around. i felt like i barely even knew our main character aside from explicit call outs on her behavior and that really ruins my experience with a book :(
all in all, i found it to still be an intriguing and attention capturing book, even if it relied heavily on its concept and world building for those qualities. and there are definitely people out there who would adore this book, i’m especially thinking of fans of fast paced plot!

(edit: i actually take that back, from what i’ve seen the sequel is worse and i am not going to try and force myself through that lmao)

Začátek mě bavil. Říkala jsem si, že by to mohlo být něco jako Ready Player One: Hra začíná. No.. bohužel to tomu později nasahalo ani po kotníky.
