I sooo should've read this book when I first bought it. It would've been so perfect.
But that's not to say that I did not enjoy this book, because I did. It was so much fun to read and like immerse myself in the world of Warcross (☆ω☆)

I loved the characters a lot! But sometimes I wanted to slap some of them to just wake up and see what's in front of them (*´∇`)┌θ☆(ノ>_<)ノ

It was a fun and really interesting read and I cannot wait to delve into the sequel Wildcard!! ٩(◕‿◕。)۶

If you combined Sword Art Online and Quidditch with a pinch of [b: Hunger Games|2767052|The Hunger Games (The Hunger Games, #1)|Suzanne Collins|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1447303603s/2767052.jpg|2792775] this would be your result...and it's EPIC!

Imagine wandering through the most realistic virtual Paris ever, or lounging in a full simulation of Hawaii's beaches. Imagine flying through a fantasy world of dragons and elves. Anything.

[b: Warcross|29385546|Warcross (Warcross, #1)|Marie Lu|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1489081682s/29385546.jpg|49634052] is a virtual reality combat game created by young billionaire, Hideo Tanaka. Teams compete in virtual arenas to steal the opposing team's artifact. Emika Chen is a hacker and bounty hunter struggling to keep a roof over her head. Seizing a risky opportunity to make some quick cash, Emika accidentally glitches herself into the live Warcross opening ceremony. Instead of being arrested, Hideo Tanaka himself offers her a job...as both a player and spy in the game.

It's a book rich in stunning world descriptions, bloodthirsty competition, technological marvels, secrets and lies. As Emika delves into the underbelly of the Dark World, she discovers a plot larger than what she could have imagined. It'll keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end...and what an end it was! I can't wait to see what the sequel has in store for us.

Finally, to all the gamer girls out there. You inspired this.

Recommended for those that absolutely love a good virtual reality plot and mah fellow gamers and Quidditch fans...because we all love a good game.

3.5 stars, HIDEO bffr.

I would say that this book is the blander version of Ready Player One and the romance was just unnecessary. It made the power dynamics really weird, especially since Emika is Hideo's subordinate.

Wow this world!! This was such a good written story! At first I had my doubts about the virtual reality aspects in this book, but Marie Lu really knows how to build fictional worlds like these.
Really really enjoyed this one and flew through it! The only (not so much) disappointment was that the story continues in a second book! I wasn’t prepared for that so little sad that I have to wait so long for the sequel, but I hope it will be worth it!

The early middle of the book slowed down, and then the end was a couple of plot twist ending with a big cliff hanger. I really enjoyed the World Lu created, and the characters development.
