Calla Fletcher had never really known what life was life living in Alaska, other than she was born there, and left at the age of two with her mother. Calla and her father were estranged, and didn’t keep in contact as much as one would have hoped, but to Calla it just felt like her father didn’t make her a priority. When Calla gets a call regarding her father, it seemed like this was the last chance she had at mending things with him. Set in Alaska, Calla had to get use to not just the bitter cold, but also the grumpy pilot who apparently didn’t like her at all. This was my first time reading a book by, K.A. Tucker, but she immediately piqued my interest with her emotional storyline and with my favorite trope of, Grumpy/Sunshine.

I did have gripes though. Jonah spends a lot of time shaming Calla for certain things - wearing make up, owning expensive clothes, caring about her appearance etc. - and I really didn’t care for this. These things didn’t make her a bad person, and he spends a lot of the story fixated on them and acting like he’s a better than her because he leads a simpler life. His nickname for her was ‘Barbie’ which I also didn’t really care for.
I enjoyed the fact it was fairly tame on the smut. There was a sprinkling of spice but nothing that was too much. It felt more appropriate to me for some reason.
Gripes aside, I did enjoy this book a lot.

The main characters in the novel are extremely likeable but the secondary characters furthered added to the magic of this book. I adored the storyline between Calla reconnecting with her father and the romance that took place was a perfect addition. The ending made me cry (which is rare for a book) and I am so glad I began to read this book. One of my favourites and was very well needed!
