An all-time favourite series. I love watching Calla slowly grow to embrace Alaska. Although I love her and Jonah’s banter and budding relationship, the true heart of this story is Calla getting to truly know the father she never met. A beautiful story with humour interwoven to help offset the heaviness

I would love to get even a chapter or two from Jonah’s POV. I think it would help to make him just a bit more likeable (but honestly I love him anyway, despite a few eye-roll worthy comments here and there)

I will never get tired of this story and am excited to dive back into Wild at Heart

Telling a story of forgiving a parent is a difficult task and not something that can easily be told, but the way this was done was lovely. And heartbreaking. Calla had a lot of anger, but her stepfather was her voice of reason. I loved seeing the family dynamic as well as her “battle” with Jonah who is such a grouch.

Calla is without a job, boyfriend and is flying to Alaska to see her estranged father after she’s discovered he has been diagnosed with cancer. But the awkwardness of 12 years silence also has to compete with remote living, bugs, lack of access to her creature comforts and a grumpy yeti Alaskan pilot who keeps showing up everywhere.

I am so glad I was told to read this! I was always hesitant as I don’t see myself as a general romance reader but this book just may have convinced me I was wrong.

The banter between Jonah and Calla is fantastic and yes yay romance but this book had so much more. There was a beautiful story about coming to peace with life decisions, the beauty in the simple life and really digging into what is important.

This book made me laugh, cry and a really think about some things. I would happily read it again and again just to revisit the world of Bangor Alaska.

I loved this book. So much. I’ve rarely read a book that’s had me smiling so much the whole way through. God, do I love a slow burn. The banter between Calla and Jonah was top tier. I was in tears towards the end but the ending left me dying to read the next one.
I also loved that it mentioned Canadian (Toronto!) stuff cause it’s stuff I recognize when most books are set in the “Southern 48”.

The only reasons this wasn’t 5 stars is because I thought Calla was a little selfish at times and that annoyed me. A lot of Jonah’s actions toward Calla were unjustified, especially in the beginning when he just assumed she was going to be a pain based on her Instagram pictures. Also, the hiding her makeup on her thing; sure, you can tell her she looks pretty without it but if she likes her makeup, let her wear it.
This book reminded me a bit of Tessa Bailey’s It Happened One Summer but much better imo.

this book made me cry on an airplane.

it was funny, heartbreaking, romantic, and adventurous. quite literally a PERFECT book. I’m so sad to be finished reading it, i wish i could stay with these characters forever. (i’ll DEFINITELY be buying book two after this!)

i don’t know what to say in this review because i don’t want to spoil a single line of the book. it’s THAT good. you just have to read it. i will say though that i love Calla’s heart and her strength, and the relationships she builds with everyone in Alaska. I also was giggling OUT LOUD at the banter between Jonah and Calla, which I almost never do when I’m reading.

Absolutely give this book a shot, you won’t regret it.
