While there were parts of this book I did enjoy overall I cannot rate it high due to the two main characters. Things I liked: the general plot, the character dynamics, the dad relationship complication, the side characters. Things I didn’t like: the two main characters were borderline insufferable at times I was not convinced the even lied each other by the end. Some of the the things the MMC did were wild (stealing her luggage???). I also felt like although the FMC was not great at times and came across very stuck up she did have moments were her emotions were valid and he would completely disregard her feelings and in her internal monologue she wild agree with him??? Like his disapproval of her relationship  with her dad when majority of the blame with that should be o the dad NOT her. So while I did enjoy parts and overall didn’t hate it the MC’s were not for me at all.

I absolutely ADORED this book. And shed a lot of tears through it, especially during Chapter 25 to 26. I had heard so many good reviews about this book, and it really was all that I expected it to be. It was such a quick read for me too – had I not been preoccupied I would have probably finished it in one go.

My favourite thing about small-town romances is 'found family' trope, I'm generally very fond of village/small-town type settings because of how heartwarming and wholesome they tend to be. The side characters in this novel were very lovable. The main characters were relatable, and the plot was realistic. A part of me does wish to see a separate story for Wren and Susan though. Overall really really loved this book. Can't wait to read the second!

–––

I went and changed my review on this because I felt that there was no factor that actually made me think that Jonah and Calla were ‘made’ for on another, it actually felt like pure physical attraction and I only realised later that they never really had time to get to know each other, at least not deeply, or in the way that I wanted them to. Overall I guess the angst and buildup was what made this story initially really good, but since that’s gone I don’t know if I’ll have any motivation to start nor finish the second book.

An absolute delight to read! Can’t believe I didn’t read it sooner! Kindle unlimited has the series, so I’m already opening book two….!

LOVED the setting, loved the love story, and loved all the other characters that made the story even better.

Definitely a lovely little love story, with lots of humour, witty banter, the right amount of spice, and some beautiful family moments.

This is literally EVERYTHING I want in a small town romance book because there is so much depth to it, even outside the romance part. The romance was great...but it wasn't even the best part to me.

I can't describe how much I love this book. I feel utterly speechless. I might have to come back later once I've digested it.

AND it's a series! This is just the first book! Lol
