This book probably wasn't aimed at me, I imagine if I was a teenager who had a recently broken family and a weirdly close relationship with a grandparent than maybe I would have loved it. But I'm not, so I found every single character quite annoying, especially the main character. There were some really weird lines in there. Also, the end was so weirdly unmatched with the tone of the rest of the book, I really couldn't believe that's how the author ended it. Weird one.

When you pick a book based on the cover thinking it'll be a cute summer romance but end up teared up by the end. This was nothing like what I expected but it ended up being a beautifully written/translated quick read about friendship, family and the joy of being by the sea. Would have liked it to be a bit longer to see more of Vinga and Ruth.
