AMAZING
I’ve been in a book funk for months now and I kept seeing TikTok video about the serie and thought why not
So this This is my first book by Rebecca Yarros and I loved it
The story and writing was captivating the character are fierce and strong
I cannot say more without risking spoiling anything so you just need to read this amazing story to understand
And when you think you know you will realized that you don’t

This book was fucking amazing. Literally from start to finish it was so much fun to read and a page turner.
The only thing that ruined it for me was how fast Violet and Xaden had sex. Like cmon, this is a fantasy series. Usually that shit happens at least in the second book. It kind of ruined it for me cuz at that point, we still didn’t know much about Xaden. And there was no romance side plot exciting moments to look forward to. I know many months passed before they finally did it, but it still felt too rushed to me. Like the author was trying to force them together so that Xaden’s lying to her would hurt more. There was a section of the book that just seemed all about Xaden and Violet wanting to fuck rather than cool fantasy stuff.
Other than me being mad about the timing of sex, this book was a solid 4.5/5

Don't go into the book thinking it's revolutionary because it's many things but not that. The story is mainly very predictable and the characters lack some level of consistency. I understand people change, but the pussification of xaden did piss me off a little bit. Dont worry it's not actually that bad and, the book overall, made my day so good every time i picked it up. I swear to god i love that type of humor and sass. I don't know how Rebecca Yarros managed to do so but she wrote an extremely obvious book with the stereotypical main character syndrome and so-what-not but surprised me me with quite a couple of plot points. I usually see them coming but i did like it because you would read it, be left incredulous and it would after fall into the of course that happen. All of that to say i had so so much fun reading it. In my opinion better than acotar if you want a comparison point, but again of course they died and they did not. When you'll finish the book you'll get it, but i didn't feel like blurring the names for the spoiler so i hope you'll get it. Ps. I did like the just because you're body is weak doesn't mean you can't ride. You worked harder than most students and deserve it point. It felt really supportive and body positive in a way that it was both subtle and wholesome . In conclusion good job, could do a better one, but i loved it!
