I get it, I truly do get. I waivered very hard between 3 stars and 4 because I did enjoy the read! The last bit sucked me in and had me up til 3 am reading but I struggle a bit with “fragile” FMCs. It’s a bit overhyped but I did enjoy the journey. May read the next one but I haven’t decided yet.

LOVED IT.

It's a really good book and I loved it. I read it in a single day.
But what I found totally unnecessary was that they killed Liam (my Shayla 😭). Otherwise, everything was good. THE SPICY is fucking incredible. There are only like four chapters with scenes like this, but it seems like there are dozens. FUCK YOU DAIN AETOS, I hate you, comepinga!. You go through so many emotions at once: you get angry, you fall in love, you get sad, you get upset, you hate characters, you love others, you feel rage. So many emotions at once, I'm serious. Spoiler: you're going to fall in love with a dragon, yes, a fucking dragon. Here's the thing: either you love the book completely or you hate it with all your being.

I wasn’t into this one, and I don’t think the romantasy genre is necessarily for me. I found this boring and predictable, with really flat characters. I don’t know if the later books are better, but I could hardly get through this one, almost DNF.

Devoured this book. So many things to say! I loved how Yarros used violets calming techniques early in the book to give us some backstory. The dragons are so sassy and I loved the friendship development in this book. This confirmed to me that I don’t like trials at the beginning of the book, because obviously the characters are going to make it to the end. Violet still doesn’t beat Celaena as a FMV, but she’s better than Feyre (my only other two comparisons rn). Violet feels very unsure and she’s not really a badass yet. I liked the modern writing style and didn’t read vulgar gesture once!! Big must read on this book!
