I had really high expectations for this book. It totally hit those as far as nostalgia and fun characters, but fell slightly flat as far as relationships between those characters and memorable plot. I think this is a great read for anyone wanting to enjoy early 2000s nostalgia and music.

This was written for readers like me, who miss the early internet and had bad taste in boys and love broken hearts and good songs.
pretty sure this is the best thing i’ve read so far this year and i can’t even process how much i love it. it had decade long yearning, deep character exploration, passion for music and connection. i don’t even have words.
and the writing was phenomenal and just everything that i look for. literary and deep hitting. i stand by what i said, this is such a sally rooney & gabrielle zevin mix.
