What in the world is happening? How do I rate this?
I can not say this is one of the craziest, most screwed up books I've ever read because it is not but at the same time... Maybe it is.
Nothing good happens in this book, and yet, I COULD NOT PUT IT DOWN. I kept saying it was like a train wreck that you couldn’t look away from.
Is this a romance? No, not really, but was Romeo & Juliet a romance? If you think so, then you may perceive it as one. There IS love – but it's dangerous, obsessive, and destructive.
I won't tell you about the characters or the main storyline because you should go in blind (but read the triggers, because this book takes the definition of "dark" to another level, and it won't suit most sane people).
Happy reading

wow
What a way to rip my heart out and stomp on it. I was expecting a dark story but not a story SO dark it ripped out my heart and made me cry. I was so happy for Lyra and Elijah and then all of a sudden I’m in tears. Dana Isaly writes incredibly. I felt every emotion until the very end.

It is dark, twisted and here I am LOVING IT!
*For the bad reviews, all I have to say is it has trigger warnings before you even start the book, so you know what you're going into. Don't put a book down because it's not your type.*
I'm ok with reading dark books, I liked the dark romance and it kept me wanting to know what was going to happen all the way through, how it was going to end the whole time I was reading. It wasn't even love but something different they shared, an obsession and I enjoyed all of it. The ending was also just as it should've been. This is the 2nd book I've read by her, I'm glad I read it and I will continue to read her books because they are different in a good way.
I recommend this book if you're into the dark and twisted.

The ending was absolutely perfect for this story. Anything else would have been a disservice

I am not sure what I just read... This book was a short, fast read which I always enjoy. I loved the alternating point of view between Elijah and Lyra and even the demon in one chapter. It gave insight into how both characters think and why their obsession with each other was so toxic yet made so much sense. The way Lyra would think back to her therapy sessions also gave an insight into her past and how it shapes her thoughts in regards to Elijah which I thought was interesting. I found the end of the book entertaining and although I was not sure how it would end, I'm glad it wrapped up the way that it did. It was foreshadowed throughout the book and with two chaotic characters, I couldn't think of a better ending. I gave this book 3 stars because I found the amount of sex in the book to be a bit much. The book is already only about 200 pages but it could've easily been much shorter without all of these explicit scenes.

Wow…. This book doesn’t give you the warm happy ending you want, just be prepared!! It’s a fantastic book, it’s dark and the to main characters are fucked up, but it works. It’s another great short story, with a lot of spice. Good read!
