Dystopian
Not bad, first novel took a little adjusting to since cannibalism isn’t my thing but it was definitely interesting. Four stars. I’d read book two.

I liked the book but I'm confused about the plot and I don't know who is the nemy and who is not. So yeah, I will have to check out the 2nd book. Loved the twisted parts!
This was one of the worst books I’ve ever read. It’s like a 12 year old wrote this and published it on Wattpad. There’s no rhythm, no world-building, no character development. There’s minute detail about what the characters look like. The entire book was so messy I felt like someone was fucking with me because what publisher would read this and be like “let’s allow other people to read this.” Anyways, here are my thoughts as I read:
I feel like when book characters claim they’re psychotic, their thoughts are written like a normal person’s thoughts. When I think of crazy, I want to read a crazy person’s thoughts which I guess is hard to do if an author is not in fact crazy. I’ve only read two books that could be considered equal to a crazy person’s POV and I loved the shit out of them. I like quirky random MCs though.
Hmm interesting. How am I past the half-point of this book already and not much has happened?
Oop Cali is slightly deranged, I like it.
More than halfway through with little-to-no world building and not a lot of character descriptions besides the MCs. It’s all really fast-paced I’m losing sight of the plot.
Everything’s random and all over the place. First she’s angry, then upset, they’re having sex, he’s all like “I know you” and “ur mine.” This is a very incoherent book, but it’s short so I’ll finish it.
One second Arlen is a rage-filled kidnap-ee and now she’s buddy buddy with everyone and making jokes while drinking moonshine?

4.1/5 stars! There probably has never been a more accurate description of the devil himself. In a post apocalyptic world Romero and Calista never learned the meaning of the word love, but their madness is drawn to one another's depravity. Romero is the devil himself laced with malice who saved Calista from the light by showing her the beauty in the dark. Calista is the only one who can paint Romero's black soul with her colorful chaos. A united goal leads these two to kill and f*ck their way to revenge, leaving a trail of blood and bodies in their wake. Even the devil needs love, and his kind of love will push you straight into madness.
Let me start with the prologue because the author warns you from page one that this isn't a fairytale, and this love is so dark it will blot out even the brightest of lights. Of course me being me, the prologue had me all in from page one! I loved their messed up kind of love because I honestly can't see these two souls with anyone else but each other. It's mess-up, but their crazy was literally molded for one another. "The powerful frequency between us had our souls f*cking before we even touched." From chapter one the flames of darkness draws you right in. Their story is full of revenge killings, unhinged torture, and intense mind numbingly deviant f*cking (There is no other word because it is so far from love even f*cking is too sweet of a word for what these two do). There are just a few issues I had with the book. One being at times the story was a bit choppy, and the story seemed to be flying apart in complete chaos rather than neatly unfolding, but I suppose in a sense that fits in with these characters perfectly as well. The cover is also not my favorite cover. I know you're not suppose to judge a book by its cover, but I think that was one of the biggest factors on why it has been sitting in my TBR pile for so long.
If you enjoy something completely messed up and two mad minds beautifully interlaced with one another, than this might be the read for you! There is a lot of religious and cult elements as well. It does end on a cliff hanger, and reader should be aware that there are a lot of potential triggers in the book. Amongst the triggers, the sex scenes are truly twisted, and if you are not ready for a book this dark, they might fall on the side of cringe worthy at times. There is nothing sweet about this book, because together these two are nothing short of savages.

Reminds me of Harley Quinn and the Joker.

“You let the devil inside you, baby. And he isn’t leaving anytime soon.”
Let me start by saying, this book is definitely not for everyone. Please check trigger warnings before you dive in. It is dark & twisty, graphic, raw, demented and savage. Now if those thing sound like it would be up your ally then by all means, READ THIS BOOK.
Calista and Romero and both brutal, demented and just all around insane. They are two halves to a whole.
There are some relationships that still have to be brought into the open, and some relationships that get thrown at you in a killer plot twist. And that cliff hanger? Leaves you immediately wanting to dive into book 2!
