Thank you to Ballantine and Netgalley for letting me read this book early. This one publishes 8/10

This book is quite a ride! I normally hate reading about a million characters because I have a hard time keeping them organized in my head, but Joy Fielding does a wonderful job with making them all different enough to help keep you on track. I was very engrossed with this book and ended up reading it pretty quickly. It was very entertaining and I definitely recommend it but must mention there are a plethora of trigger warnings in this one.

At the beginning of the story you learn someone has just been shot and then we travel backwards and get to know all the neighbors living in this cul-de-sac together before the shooting. A diverse group of neighbors, who all have their fare share of secrets. And all have access to guns.

Easy read, a little suspense and it ended “the right way”.

Enjoyed this more than I felt like I should. Kind of reminded me of desperate housewives for some reason.

Sometimes a novel with this many POV’s can get a bit confusing. You get a little mixed up with all the details and at times, characters can be hard to differentiate. But because each character was so well developed and so glaringly different from the last, each one just added layers and more substance to the story. I found the story to be phenomenal and the final outcome was exactly what I’d hoped for.

It's been some time since I've read a Joy Fielding book and all I remember is that she never lets me down. So glad I picked this one up. Loved this.

Thank you Netgalley and Ballantine Books for this eARC in return for an honest review.

This book is centered around 5 families that live in the same cul-de-sac. Things may be picture perfect for some of them, or perhaps neighbors may seem snooty, or a few have odd behaviors, but it runs deeper than that. Way deeper. Things are not as they appear in this cul-de-sac. It even ends in murder.
Keeping up with multiple Povs was a bit challenging in the beginning but once I was got a hang of it I flew through this book. Although all of the storyline were good there were some that I couldn't wait to read about. I would recommend reading this if you like or want to read a family suspense novel.
