Greatest reading accomplishment of my life! I do really like this story but I will also probably never read the unabridged version ever again.

I don't need to write a review to say what lots of other people have already said. If you really want to read the story, opt for the abridged version.

Loooooooong! And ten chapters (or however many it was) on the sewers?! About as interesting as all the chapters about Levin cutting the grass in "Anna Karenina." Or perhaps slightly more interesting...although I wouldn't really know seeing I skimmed both bits in both books...haha! Anyway, having loved the musical and the movie, it was nice finally reading the real story. Although it completely killed my crush on Marius. He was annoying me so much, I wanted to punch him by the end.

“He never went out without a book under his arm, and he often came back with two.”
― Victor Hugo, Les Misérables

How much do I love Les Misérables?
Interminably!

I'm not going to lie. I had never heard of the book before the movie.
I know! Shame on me..
But as soon as a saw the first scen on screen, I was caught. Caught in this webb of misery, war and endless love. I cried and laughted and screamed.

The book on the other hand, is so much more spectacular! I can't put it to words, but Hugo made magic with this story and so many important lifelessons can be taken from this book.

“To love or have loved, that is enough. Ask nothing further. There is no other pearl to be found in the dark folds of life.”
― Victor Hugo, Les Misérables

This is a book that should be mandatory for everyone to read in school!
