This was a very different take on faeries. And for some reason, it was just beyond me. The leap to believe this was even remotely possible was just...too much
and since I had a tough time buying into the main plot, I had a tough time with the story as a whole. It was cute and fluffy, but just not my cup of tea. Add trolls, love triangles, odd highschool moments and a friend who wants to date a boy vicariously through another - and it just....lost me.
that doesn't make it a bad read, and I'm sure there are plenty that love it. It just wasn't my kind of thing.

I loved this book. A great book for young adults. I hope there is a sequel.

Story is nicely put together and I always love a good romance, though for a young adult book it is really better of being classed Teen :)
I enjoyed it though and will be getting book no. 2 on my to read list!

Op school leert ze David kennen. Hij zorgt ervoor dat Laurel zich op haar gemak voelt en een plekje vindt. Op een dag voelt Laurel iets op haar rug wat steeds groter wordt, later blijkt dat dit vleugels zijn.
Ze komt in contact met wezens uit een andere wereld en gaat op zoek naar wie zij is en wat haar afkomst is. Later blijkt haar ouderlijk huis hier een heel belangrijke rol in te spelen, tot haar moeder dit huis wilt verkopen.
Gaat het Laurel lukken om het huis en zo ook de andere wereld te redden? Wie is Laurel en van waar komt ze? Zijn ze wel veilig?
Ik ben nog niet zo bekend in de fantasy-wereld, dit boek was ideaal om er meer kennis mee te maken. Het is duidelijk en toegankelijk geschreven. Ik heb echt genoten van dit boek, de manier op hoe alles beschreven wordt was heel interessant en verleidelijk om steeds verder te willen lezen.
Dit boek ging zo vlot dat ik niet door had dat het uit was. Dit is echt een feelgood-cozy-fantasy die echt heel leuk is! Ik ben heel blij dat er nog drie boeken zijn in de serie die ik kan lezen! Top!

An easy read. I thought the plant-fairy thing was interesting.
I really enjoyed this book. I liked its pacing, heroine, and warm, light tone. Nice to see a beginning to a faerie series that isn't laced with depression.
