I wasn’t sold on the premise immediately, like I was the first two, but this book grew on me. The author does a great job at challenging assumptions and opening my mind to perspectives I hadn’t considered. And Chambers is just a darn good writer. The humanity of the characters really shines, especially as they consider their human-ness. It gives me hope for us.

This was a 3 star read up until the final 3rd of the book. I really didn't enjoy this book as much as the previous two, but it was an odd mix of sci-fi tropes I love and tropes I don't like. I'm not the biggest fan of sci-fi books that are pure/mostly human, especially set in a world (galaxy?) where we've already had such diverse casts with aliens and humans.

Also the boy MCs were kind of annoying and I'm not the biggest fan of reading about moms.

Read Infinity and Beyond - Guest Quarters: Pick a book that involves a stowaway or someone on board that isn’t entirely welcome
