Jedná se o první díl ze série Velké zločiny. Zároveň se dá titul popsat jako děsivý krimi thriller. Vyprávění obsahuje poměrně detailní popisy některých vražd, tudíž je zřejmé, že se nejedná o čtivo pro citlivější povahy. I přesto je ale příběh plynulý a čtivý. Vypravěč sleduje hned několik linií, a to konkrétně postup vyšetřování ze strany Cary a jejího bratra, dále zpracovává psychologickou linii jedné z obětí a pochopitelně je několik kapitol věnováno i samotnému vrahovi. Čeho jsem si však všimla, je poměrně častá podobnost s Kaštánkem od Sveistrupa. Čtení je to těžké, a proto se přiznávám, že jsem knihu četla asi na třikrát. K četbě jsem se rozhodla díky čtenářskému klubu na ČBDB. Abych pravdu řekla, než se pustím do Čísla 20 či Pána loutek, budu si muset dát pauzu.

This book just had me gripped from the start. It felt like trying to be a detective to work out who the identity of the echo man was or who his crimes would be the echo of.
I think I guessed like 2 people but was so close with one of them.
This was a longer book than I thought but so worth it although I didn’t expect it to be so dark. I was sat with my jaw on the floor so many times and audibly gasping in parts

Be warned, this is dark, with scenes that are horrific. I was completely hooked by this book and liked the copy cat killer aspect.
There is a relationship in this and some spice, which I’m typically not a fan of but I didn’t mind in this as it made sense within the personality of the characters who were both quite traumatised.

Liked the plot, well written with great characters. Have ordered the next book in the series so I can carry on.
