I was expecting something hopeful and optimistic, but instead was presented with a logical argument. I felt like his descriptions of suffering failed to honor the complexity of the experience. I don’t believe suffering is so simple. That being said, I realize the historical context; perhaps he’s more focused on arguing against the Nazi’s disregard for human life and not so much directing his argument to someone like me. Also, I’m guessing some things were lost in translation.

El libro recopila tres conferencias y un texto autobiográfico que reflexionan sobre la experiencia del autor en los campos de concentración y las maneras que encontró para decirle “sí a la vida”, como dice el título.
Resulta interesante, pues se abarcan temas como la muerte, la enfermedad corporal y la situación en los campos de concentración; sin embargo, al igual que al lector del comentario anterior, me pareció un libro bastante enredado. No sé si la traducción no es del todo buena o, como lector, necesito de mayores conocimientos para entender mejor lo que intentaban decirme.
