Having now completed the series, I think this might be the weakest entry. It felt less focused than most of the other books, probably because of the increased number of POV characters. Plot also felt more like wrapping up a bunch of prior loose ends than its own story. Still a good book though.

This latest installment doesn't let up on the gas (or the reactor pellets, I suppose) as it continues to broaden the scope and perspectives of its world. Aside from a few more breadcrumbs, the underlying alien mysteries take a backseat in this novel to the fractious human goings-on. It's an engaging and propulsive read that promises more to come.
