A clever concept and I enjoyed the setting but I think giving the 'entity' its own chapters was a bad idea - it's an enemy that we don't like, I didn't want to spend time reading his side of the story. I found myself skipping most of those parts because I wanted to go back to the group of students. The Ian storyline was also a bit weird because it had this huge mystery surrounding it and build up and then the result is just.. meh? The reality was just a bit flat.

Wouldn't it have been better to have him working for Ambrose or the Professor without him knowing.. like, a mysterious person contacted him and asked him to collect power from students and they'd pay him lots of money.
