Heartbreaking and brutal. Hampered significantly in places by the fact that it is written from an Israeli perspective, but hopefully this enhances its potential to change minds.

A very important and timely piece of information and the truths about the Nakba (the Catastrophe). Israel or the Zionists never wanted peace, negotiation or two-state solutions whatsoever but all they always wanted is Ethnic Cleansing or wiping out the entire population off the non-White people living there and made it a Jewish state run by the Capitalists and Oligarch billionaires and reap off all the rich natural resources of the place and the entire Arab region!. Kudos to Pappe for your courage in bringing the truths to light and exposing the darkness and the evil of the Zionism ideology to the world!. I am so gonna read all of your books! From the river to sea, Palestine will be free!.

Very important, detailed and heavy on your soul.
Captures the whole scope of the nakba, without holding back.

incredibly comprehensive book following the colonization of palestine. simply explained, easy to follow, and revealing of a history that is so often erased.
i grew up hearing stories from my grandparents about their displacement and escapes from massacres, so i had a general idea about the contents of this book. still, reading about the atrocities committed, the motivations behind them, and the inaction following them was infuriating.
as nauseating as some of the history depicted was, this was such a necessary read

"For contemporary as well as for later historians, between the 30th of March and the 15th of May, 200 villages were occupied and their inhabitants expelled. This is a fact that must be repeated."
"I have no illusion that it will take more than this book to reverse a reality that demonizes the people who have been colonized, expelled, and occupied, and glorifies the very people who colonized, expelled, and occupied."
