Very interesting information on a variety of different historical time periods in the United States. One thing that struck me was how much the politics of today mirrors the politics in our history.

A fantastic and informative read. Definitely useful, and presents both sides of the story behind the myth in each chapter. Great use of source material to accurately cite the historical facts, and explain some nuances about the study of history for those who seek the subject merely for entertainment versus as an academic pursuit.

These so called historians are a joke and are manipulating history to forward their political vendettas. I am no Trump or MAGA fan myself, but these “historians” are blinded by their hate and cannot actually read history and its effects today. It takes a lot for me to quit a book and this was the easiest for me to put down.

If you are already up to speed on the politics of our contemporary era, much here is going to be boring. There are some great essays on some of the self-congratulatory way white America sees itself, which is useful. It really should be something everyone reads or knows already. Maybe good to hand to someone whose public school teacher was also the gym teacher. I understand that is actually a thing.
