A fine book, I found it tediously slow in the beginning especially since we all knew where it was going to end up, but I did greatly enjoy the final third

The first two parts felt a bit slow, but past that the story really takes off. Love the numerous nursery rhymes and stories brought into it.

The only thing missing for me was a slightly faster pacing, especially in the first third.

Le streghe in eterno è un fantasy che si può definire femminista con qualche riserva: infatti, (fortunatamente solo) a tratti cede agli stereotipi di genere e al sessismo, come nell'uso della magia. Si riscatta per i personaggi realistici, la sempre interessante Storia alternativa e la scrittura della Harrow, quello stile poetico ma non troppo che si addice molto bene alla storia. Menzione d'onore per il salvataggio sul finale quasi totalmente riuscito: l'importanza data alla volontà nella magia come nella vita.

"...proper witching...only ever takes three things: the will to listen to it, the words to speak with it, and the way to let it into the world. The will, the words, and the way". The lengths to which people go to oppress women correlates with their fear of what truly free women, unbound by convention, will make of the world. I would like to see that world. This book was an inspiration.
