This is life-changing. Like, I want to read this with and teach this to my students. And embarrassingly, none of this is "new" -- it's Psych 101, really -- but we just don't think about any of it until Clear points it out. At least I didn't. Anyway, aside from the last few chapters, which seemed tacked on to meet a page quota or something, Clear does an excellent job of telling us the what, why, and how of making and breaking habits. Very readable, very relatable, and very relevant.

Just finished this. Up front I haven't tried to implement anything from this book yet but it had some characteristics that I feel make it better than the average self help book.
One, while this book adhered to the common trope of self help by relaying anecdotes to illustrate the point being made they were brief and not belabored. Almost everytime they were a brief few paragraphs to open the chapter and I appreciated that they didn't feel like unnecessary padding.
Two, there are clear actionable steps provided and enough examples to give guidance on how to use these tools to meet your specific needs. Sure the highlights could be boiled down to a few key concepts and condensed to a page or two, but the variety of examples for each point gave enough context to tailor things to your needs without, again, seeming like padding.
This brings me to point three, the author condensed all his major points to an easy to reference cheat sheet. And provided it in the book. No real gimmick and minimal up selling were appreciated.
One note, I read this as an ebook and I think in this case a physical book would be more helpful. Easier for me to make notes and reference back and forth. I do plan on trying the lessons in the book out and may come back and update my review in the future. For now though, above average for a self help book.

Really helpful book. Helps break down habits into small doable things. Very motivating and perspective changing
