I will be eagerly and impatiently awaiting the next release. I love Skye and Taly together, I wish we had more of 'them' in this book but I really enjoyed learning more about the histories and powers. I loved that we sort of got to see them together in the dreams!

This felt a bit like a set up for the rest of the series with the war etc. Maybe we will be travelling to the other realms??

The Shades and the teases of the villain we got are terrifying!

I am really enjoying this series. The world and the magic system are so interesting and the author does such a great job of giving you just the perfect amount of information to get you hooked into the story. By the end of this second book there is so much we have learned about this world, but there is still so much more that we have yet to learn. Cant wait for book 3!!

I have to admit that I wasn't one hundred percent on board with this series after reading this first book, but I enjoyed this one a lot more.  I think, at least for me, what makes this series are the characters.  I really enjoy both Skye and Taly's characters, and I think my love for their characters makes up for the fact that the actual storyline wasn't my favorite.  I enjoyed this book for the most part, but I would be lying if I didn't say that it felt like it was dragging a bit.  I am not a fan of when characters get separated for the length of a book, especially characters that are meant to be love interests, but usually I get over it because it provides great opportunities for a loving reunion.  In the case of this, I feel like Skye and Taly were separated far too long, I don't think they see each other for real until the last hundred pages of the book and considering how long the book was, it was pretty far into the book.  I feel like all of Taly's training got dragged out way too long and while a lot of important information was provided while Taly was away, it got a bit repetitive and I just wanted Skye and Taly to be able to be together.  I also think I'm a bit annoyed by this series because now that this second book made me a nit invested in the series, I realize that there isn't really any updates as to when a sequel will be coming out so I'm worried the series is a abandoned.  I tried to look up more about the author and series but kind of came up empty handed and I know that this book came out in 2020 and I'm reading it in 2024 so it doesn't seem to promising which is a shame because I feel like by the end of the book, there was still a lot that the author could do with the series.  I did really like it at the end, but I don't think I'm going to hold out hope for another book, considering how long it's been since the release of this book.

This book is looong. I see the author has marked this as a 5 book series.

Things I liked:
  1. Interesting use of time magic
  2. Fated mates
  3. Cato redemption
  4. Bloodcraft

Things I didn’t like:
  1. Not enough romance
  2. It’s so long I forget why things work the way they do
  3. This audiobook is basically 19 hours of the montage where Rocky does his training to get ready for the big fight
  4. Mimic pet - too dangerous
