An even 4 stars, and I'm someone whose actual ratings are usually in-between.

Never After: The Thirteenth Fairy is a fast-paced and fun adventure full of tons of classic fairytales retold in their "true" forms.

Positives: The different takes on retelling the classics is fun and refreshing. It's fast-paced and easily draws you in. The main characters are likeable, if not loveable. A good start to a middle grade series.

Negatives: There is a scene with bullying actively taking place that could be potentially triggering for younger readers. The ending felt a bit anti-climatic, even with keeping in mind the target audience.

Neutral: Some predictability in plot, but for a MG read, it's not so bad.

Final Thoughts: I'd recommend this to anyone that enjoys fairytale retellings and fantasy as a whole. Alistair was easily my favorite character.
