I am reviewing the Sam Torode version from Amazon. At the time of download it was free for Kindle.
"To clarify muddy waters, you must hold them still and let things settle. To glimpse the secret of the Tao, you must keep still and quiet your mind."
Part of my interest that drew me to the Tao Te Ching was reading it from a meditative standpoint. I struggle with anxiety and anything that can help me focus and still my mind is appreciated. This is a great read that does indeed help gives much food for thought. This will be a book that I foresee myself reading multiple times in my life because I can tell that at different times in ones life it may have different meanings or one part of the book may stand out above the rest depending on what is happening.
December 2020: I listened to the Stephen Mitchell audiobook. It is definitely not the best translation out there but it still has some valuable insights. It is worth listening to reading. From what I gather about the Tao Te Ching there are many different translations.

A Three in One
A faith, a philosophy, and a theory on government all in one. This book certainly has some golden ideas that connect to larger theories on life and is worth the read. Focusing on the simple and being good for genuine reasons is the true essence of the Tao.

One to read again and again. Each time I read part of it, I get something new & different out of it. <3
