This book was strange and beautiful, not unlike Idaho itself. There were times I could not comprehend the characters and times when they felt like myself. This book does not deliver an ending with all the loose ends wrapped up in a bow, but perhaps that is more like life. We just don’t get all the answers.

I just didn't get this book. Like why doesn't everyone hate the mom? Why does Ann help her? I don't know it was all weird to me.

Beautifully written with some wonderful moments, but I can't help but feel that the editing could have been better. There were multiple points where it lost my interest and there were sections that just drew things out a bit.

I loved this book and the way it is written for the first 150 pages. After that, it started to get really, really old. It was a chore to slog through and read further and I eventually just quit halfway through. There wasn't enough happening or being revealed to keep me going through over 300 pages of mundane details about dog training and marriage.
