A very sweet book. Will add quotes later. I read this after seeing a friend's Instagram post about it, with a caption talking about how Drew seemed like someone who could have easily made excuses and gone one way but had worked very hard to go the other. I really liked this.

This was pretty painfully narrated. So over acted and the shrieking was beyond tolerable. Some interesting points about her life but I wouldn't rush anyone to read it.

I enjoyed the non-chronological order of stories, but I felt like thoughts, feelings and story details were mostly surface-level, leaving me wanting to understand why Drew felt the way she did, or why something happened because I was not privy to the unmentioned details. Such emotional details did not really start to be shared until the latter half of the book, particularly in the Africa and In-Laws chapters. I also think the tone of the book is a bit mixed, as well as the target reading audience. At times it seems like she wrote this book just because she could, and she had no real goal. At other times, it feels like she wrote it for her daughters as a keepsake for when she is gone. This made it a little confusing. I feel like this could have been better formatted and marketed as a personal journal, than a memoir (which Drew does mention in the oreface that she doesn't like thinking of it as a memoir - so why was it constructed and sold as such?) I did enjoy it overall, though. The photos were great! I hope she writes another book in the future that clarifies things and builds upon this work.

I had this book on my shelves and pushed it to the side as a light read that maybe wouldn't be good. Boy was I wrong. Drew Barrymore is down to earth and has a lot to offer the world from her insights as an embassador for the U.N., her troubled childhood, and finally being comfortable in her skin as a mom and as a woman. I highly recommend this book!

I enjoyed this book, but I felt that somethings were slightly disjointed, and therefore the book as a whole lacked flow for me.
I listened to the audio and I'm glad I did. However, I could've done with out the literal screaming that is littered throughout the book. Not a pleasant experience.
I enjoyed looking through my physical copy at the pictures that Drew chose to share. I feel that they did add to the story.
