This story was beautifully heartbreaking and I enjoyed the growth of both main characters.
I’m glad both characters got the happy ending they deserved but I am a little upset that this was how the series ended. I wish I could’ve seen more from the previous characters in this book.
Nonetheless, I’m so glad I read this series and have to convince myself more and more each day to not move to a small town in Montana.

i really really liked this book. i really appreciated to get more into wilder’s story and how he became the way he is in the brawl. i also really loved meeting iris, and getting to know her. i think her story was so interesting and seeing how she became herself was very inspiring. i really liked the discussions around the different ways to live your life and the fact that there’s no one right path, that you can actually make your own. and how it’s not because someone chose a different path that it is less than. i found the story with his wife very interesting. it wasn’t what i was expecting at all, i think it added another dimension to the story, and like complexity to the characters. i think it was a nice ending to the series.
I gotta stop reading about influencers. Or age gaps. Bleh
I'm pretty disappointed my vacation to Calamity, Montana is over with this last book in the Calamity series. It's been so fun to venture there alongside these characters.
Wilder Abbott just wants to be left alone. The brooding widower is pretty content with his solitary life in a cabin in the Montana woods and teaching science at the local high school. He hasn't felt a thing for anyone in ages. That is until he spots a gorgeous, tattooed woman at the grocery. When she ends up at his place, he swears he has to be dreaming, but no. She's the houseguest he's been dreading. His best friend asked him to repay a decade old favor by taking in his globetrotting influencer sister, Iris. Ten years his junior, Iris is charismatic and engaging. She's the opposite of curmudgeonly Wilder. But you know what they say about opposites. The only question is if Iris would give up her traveling ways to settle down for a quiet life with Wilder.

This was another great one for Devney Perry. I'm hoping to pick up more of her backlist to keep me entertained soon!

Oh my goodness this one was good! Between Wilder's deceased wife and Iris being a social media nomad and posting about her adventures, this book is perfect. Wilder is asked to watch over his best friends younger sister Iris while she's in Montana for 2 months. He doesn't want to, but his longtime friend cashes in on the one favor he owes him. When Iris and Wilder build a friendship, then a relationship, I was hooked! This book is just a perfect read, with a lot of emotion. I loved it.

This was a 2.something rounded up to 3 for me. I mostly skimmed the last 25% and it wasn't enough to make me want to try more of the series (or more from the author). But it was fine. There just wasn't much to it. I liked Iris's arc - how she came to find enough peace in herself to find home. But Wilder - so much potential in his character, but none of it realized. Ah well. It was a good in-a-pinch weekend read!
