Phew. This one has been on my TBR for 5+ years(!!) and I finally decided it was time. Halfway through, I checked Goodreads to see what my friends had said and they were all correct -- the premise is good/unique, but there's SO many characters and this book is so long that there's no way to keep track of them all. I don't mind not being able to "solve" the mystery in advance, but it's hard to feel the satisfaction of the curtain being peeled back when you can't even remember who was who and what was said when and how all the pieces fall together. Give me The 4½ Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle and I bet I can keep up

The book is genre bending twist on a whodunnit. It's addicting as the very first pages gets you curious about what is happening. It did slog down towards the end with a bit of anticlimactic twists and info dump though.

The time loop and how all the actions Aiden's witnesses are set in place by his future hosts was the highlight of the book. The actual murder mystery, the side characters and the truth of how Thomas was murdered felt rushed though. The author spent too much time setting up the time loop and how Aiden's different hosts interact with each other but I don't think he fleshed out the actual murder mystery. The reveal of the real Evelyn and the reason why she killed her brother was flimsy af. So was Aiden wanting to save Anna even after finding out she was a dangerous criminal. The ending also felt a bit too dragged

Great murder mystery, a little dark and confusing but great writing and an awesome read

This book had mixed reviews but I loved it!! The concept was insanely interesting and like almost similar to a clue(?) but I found it so fascinating and by the end I was still surprised by most of the reveals which doesn’t usually happen. The main character was fun even though with him being in 8 bodies it was hard to figure out who he actually was, and you really felt some of the emotions he was fighting with / feeling as you read. It was really good. Idk if I’d read it again bc like most of these books once you know the ending it’s less interesting, but insanely good one day short read. Definitely one of my top mysteries I’ve read of all time.
