This book took forever for me to get through. It wasn’t bad by any means and the end got crazy. Would’ve given it a 2 if not for the end, and if all was like the end would’ve considered a 4.

Normally, I get intimidated by thick books, but when an entire community raves about a novel, it’s hard not to give it a shot. The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle was definitely outside my comfort zone—I don’t typically read “whodunit” mysteries. However, I found this book to be absolutely captivating, engaging, and mind-bending from start to finish.
The twists were completely unpredictable; just when I thought I had everything figured out, the plot turned in a way I never expected. The reason I picked up The 7 1/2 Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle was because it sounded so unique and fascinating: “A murder mystery novel inspired by Agatha Christie, with a healthy dose of Groundhog Day, a hint of Quantum Leap, and a dash of Downton Abbey.” How could I resist? The result was a thrilling ride, and I enjoyed every minute of it.
If you're looking for a well-written, cleverly-plotted mystery with layers upon layers of intrigue, this is the book for you. Even if it's not your usual genre, like it wasn't for me, it's worth stepping out of your comfort zone. You won’t be disappointed!
