Frankly amazing, although I wish the final paragraph about Constantine III's possible son had been a little longer. Definitely a good read for anybody lacking in knowledge about the occupation of Britain or later Emperors.

The pages turn quickly and the colour plates bring to life much of the archaeological and numismatic evidence cited by the author. The later sections admirably make do with what little reliable source material exists and upon finishing the book, the reader can feel as if they have been given a solid and fair account of the rise and fall of Roman Britain.
