Girl this book SCARED me
I've never been a big horror fan, but it seems I'm able to tolerate it much better in book for, assuming I only read when the sun's up! I enjoyed this, although it was stylistically bizarre at times.
The order of events was often confusing, and it can be difficult to tell which character's POV you're reading at any given time. This actually helped build a general atmosphere of unease, and did it in such a way that I'm now confident it was intentional. The narrative follows the flow of thoughts of the POV character at any given time, so when a character begins to zone out during a conversation the reader gets a disconcerting view of both the thoughts and actions of that character.
Additionally, there's an air of melancholy, or detachment present in the thoughts and actions of every POV character. Side characters are going about their daily lives, but you can always tell that something is lurking beneath the surface of each of the MCs. This, like the other things I've mentioned, compound to build a truly unnerving experience by the end.
I felt like I was speeding through this one even though it took me a week, because the sense of unease and momentum kept me thinking about it even when wasn't reading.
