I absolutely loved the bites from each couple we got in this book. I can't discuss the recipes because I haven't tried them yet, but I definitely am going to. They sound fantastic and seem pretty easy to make. This book is great for both the recipes and the stories.

Before reading this book I really wondered about how it would work. A book of short stories that is also a cookbook? That's just weird. However, if you're at all familiar with Carrie Ann Ryan's Montgomery family books then you will know that food is almost it's own character. So, it's almost natural to formalise the partnership with this book. Each short story focuses on a couple that have already had their main book and HEA, so the short story brings them back to the reader and we get to see a small snapshot of their lives at a future point, with children and life changes. I had only read the full novel of one couple and had no problem enjoying all of the stories, even if the characters were unfamiliar. As for the recipes, they all sound wonderful and I can't wait to try some. Unfortunately, some of the ingredients seem to be very American-centric but I loved matching the style of food to the couple. Fun addition to the Montgomery universe.

Welcome back to Denver and the Montgomery Ink world!

Montgomery Ink Bites is a anthology and cookbook collaboration between Carrie Ann Ryan and Suzanne M. Johnson.

It is a time to check-in with the ‘original’ Montgomery siblings that kick-started the Montgomery Ink world, and get some tasty recipes with each story.

So what’s the latest with the Denver crew?

Are Austin and Sierra ready to send Leif to college??

Spend Valentine’s Day with Decker, Miranda, and their crew…

Then spend some quality time with Montgomery-Dodds…

See what brings Griffin and Autumn to New Orleans…

Catch up with Maya, Jake, and Border on vacation…

Spend some time with Tabby, Alex, and their twins…and of course cheese…

Can Storm and the rest of the family pull off his surprise for Everly?

Then finally check in with Wes and Jillian, and the ‘surprise’ when they work to fix a plumbing leak….

I loved checking in with the original Montgomery crew and seeing how everyone was doing.

Plus—the recipes!!

Each short story also includes at the end—several original recipes by Suzanne Johnson that fit each family.

I have several ‘bookmarked’ to try—including the cheesy chicken enchiladas, the cheesesteak stuffed peppers, raspberry dark chocolate fudge, s’mores cinnamon rolls, and peanut butter and chocolate cupcakes.

I loved being able to check back in with the Denver branch of the family, and while I know we’ll be seeing everyone in various spin-offs—I would love to see each ‘branch’ get their own cookbook…..

So, pull up seat, grab a drink, and possibly a pad of paper and an pen (to start the grocery list) and enjoy spending time with the various members of the Denver branch of the family.

Carrie Ann never disappoints, and I’ll be checking out Suzanne Johnson’s other collaborative cookbooks with other authors…

I give Montgomery Ink Bites five out of five stars and highly recommend it to anyone who loves to read or to cook…

Montgomery updates + recipes = awesomeness

This cookbook is full of short story updates on the original Montgomery siblings.

The short stories are absolutely amazing and are just the right touch to keep you updated on what's happening with the ones who made you love the Montgomerys to begin with.

I haven't had a chance to try out any of the recipes yet because I was out of town when this bad boy dropped, but I do plan to try a few of them. They all look delicious and not too complicated to make. I'm especially looking forward to trying out the desserts ... because ... hello ... dessert is the best part of a meal.

If you're a fan of the Montgomerys you're going to love this cookbook. If you love to try different recipes, and especially if you love cheese, you're going to love this cookbook.

What a wonderful delight to return to the the original Denver Montgomerys.

Collection of a day in the life of...vignettes/catch up on the Denver Montgomerys, their spouses and children.

Austin & Sierra: have a tissue ready because what a great story! No spoilers.

Decker & Miranda: such a sweet story with Decker and Miranda's kids & Valentine's Day. With added peek into Gallagher brothers - including Blake and Graham.

Luc & Meghan: very good handling of teenagers and birth father's that are in prison.

Griffin & Autumn: work vacation trip in New Orleans

Maya, Border & Jake: On an all-inclusive private, chic tropical/beach vacation. Lovely spin at the end!

Tabby & Alexander: Alexander has a surprise....

Storm & Everly: Storm is in need of a cake to surprise Everly for her birthday (she doesn't like suprises...).

Wes & Jillian: plumbing/water leak issue in their current build/addition with a surprise.

Plus the recipes look interest - tasty for sure.

Can't wait for the next generations books. First up is Lief's...yay!

I have loved Carrie Ann Ryan stories forever. The Montgomery series is easily my favorite. It was a nice surprise to see what she created to share a little more about her incredible stories. She brings something special to everything she writes. The recipes were also fun to incorporate into the book.

I absolutely adored reading this book! I loved all the short stories and catch ups that we got to do with the original Montgomery's and then getting the recipes for some of the items that had been talked about and/or that fit the theme. There were so many recipes that sounded sooo delicious and I can't wait to start tasting some of them. They are laid out very well and directions look easy to follow and not overly complicated. This was a great mix between the stories and then getting the recipes and everything fit together so well and really blended well.
