Time of death? When the cringe factor went from 0 to Ford GT.
The plot is just so-so.
The chemistry is non -existent.
The dialogue is offensive.
MC: 1 - I am not gay.
MC: 2- You are gay, i can tell.

This was fine, but it didn't really grab me. It's a fairly quiet opposites-attract story full of misunderstandings and questionable decisions. There are some slightly uncomfortable moments early on, but things become more clear as the story progresses. The writing was a little flat and lacked life. I liked that one of the main characters is Chinese American. I've really liked other stories by this author, but this one really didn't do it for me.

After his hours are cut at his current job, Luke is on the verge of being evicted from his apartment and his only option is to move in with his overly controlling aunts, and that just isn’t going to work for him.
In the time he has worked at the flower shop, Luke has gotten to know most of the customers, especially the overly large, tattooed man who comes in every Friday like clockwork and buys a very feminine bouquet. The man is pretty scary looking, but he has only been out of line with Luke once, and at the time the man was drunk. Neither of them mentioned this incident again, and Luke tried his best to just forget it ever happened.
You see, Cooper asked Luke out and Luke is in such denial about his sexuality that he yelled at the man and pretty much made an ass of both of them. When Cooper finds out that Luke is losing his apartment, he makes a wholly indecent proposal. If Luke agrees to basically bend over on command, he can live with Cooper rent free. What a bargain, huh?
After weighing his options, Luke realizes he really has no other option and he moves in with Cooper. When it comes time to pay the piper, however, Luke just can’t do it. Surprisingly, Cooper understands and the two men begin to get to know one another.
Luke begins to see Cooper’s tattoos as the art that they are, and Cooper realizes that he is going to have to romance Luke into bed; he won’t be able to just demand that from the man. As they get to know one another, Luke realizes he completely misjudged Cooper, and he begins to think Cooper is a man he could not only grow to respect but maybe even one day…love.
When Cooper’s past begins to catch up with him, Luke finally gets a much clearer picture of what makes the man tick, and he knows he isn’t going to let the man get away. Unfortunately as soon as he comes to this decision, his overly controlling aunts and cousin try to force his hand, and Luke has a decision to make. Will he choose his family over Cooper, or will the big, tattooed man be able to win Luke’s heart?
I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I was completely surprised at the depth of emotions it pulled from me. I was blindsided by Cooper’s past, and I absolutely loved that curveball the author threw at me. I found myself going from almost loathing Cooper to fully loving that man by the end of the book. Luke took some time to come to his own realizations, but once he did he was strong in his convictions and would not be swayed. I would highly recommend this book, and I know I am going to be checking out more titles from this new-to-me author. I hope y’all will give this one a spin also.

This was a sweet, tender story about two imperfect characters I came to care for. The narrative had some satisfying things to say about agency and authenticity. The writing style gets a bit choppy here and there, but nothing I wasn't willing to handle it see the leads get together. There is sex, though it's in the last third of the book.
