I like how refreshingly different this was. I was worried it would turn into yet another post-apocalyptic thriller, but it was more pastoral than that. I wish I could read the Dr. Eleven comics!

I love the idea of a traveling group keeping theater and music alive in a post-apocalyptic world. There were so many interwoven stories and it was so cool to follow them all and find how they were connected. I was a little struck by how thoroughly the virus dismantled society, but sadly it was believable. If people could have cooperated I think the collapse could have been avoided, but we saw in 2020 how cooperative people can be - or refuse to be - in a pandemic.

I’ve been (unintentionally) reading a lot of dystopian fic this year. This one does the best job showcasing human resiliency and the things that last beyond the rules of our modern societies.
