Cute book. I liked it but did not love it. I'm eager to read the sequels to see what happens next.

I definitely liked it better than I thought I would. Political intrigue/ espionage stuff just isn't my usual fare. And I started to worry that the ending was going to be trite and over done. But it surprised me. The book ends with a "the real missing information" is coming next sort of an ending. I would read the second one.

Grace is bi. That is what I took from this novel. I spent most of the book sighing with weariness and general predictability/why does every turn up at just the right time/there should be more politics, but the TWIST. Damn. But also, I basically just read a crush into every interaction with Megan because I am an asshole who likes F/F.

Grace can best be described as a daredevil, an Army brat, and a rebel. She is also the only granddaughter of perhaps the most powerful ambassador in the world and Grace has spent every summer of her childhood running across the roofs of Embassy Row.
Now, at age sixteen, she's come back to stay - in order to solve the mystery of her mother's death. In the process, she uncovers an international conspiracy of unsettling proportions, and must choose her friends and watch her foes carefully if she and the world are to be saved.
All Fall Down is an interesting, on-the-edge of your seat adventure with Grace who is back to her childhood vacation place, her grandfather's house on Embassy Row, in the country of Adria. Coming back here, three years after her mother's murder, she starts getting overwhelmed by the memories of the place. But it isn't until she sees the person behind it that she gets a purpose to her stay - but none of her elders believe her since she wasn't exactly stable after the incident. So, she sets out on her own, investigating in a place that's a political minefield, after a person who is a professional and trained, with a motley group of fellow kids on Embassy Row. The secrets she comes across are pretty shocking, but nothing made me exhilarated as much as the ending scene - because, man, that was a cliffhanger! I was like - no! Carter! You can't end it here!
The story being from Grace's perspective, it leaves much of interpretation according to what she sees. There is also a lot of flashback interspersed with the storyline, lending a view into the pain she's going through. It doesn't make her mopey, though, for she is pretty much able to hold her own, be it against international bigwigs or teenage bullies. She does break down at one point, and her strength shines through in that scene. The overall mood is like the second half of the Gallagher girls series, (when it becomes pretty serious, like around the 4th or 5th book?) and you can see the difference in the hilarity of the former and the sombreness of this one.
I loved the secondary characters, particularly Rosie, and am excited for any development between Noah and Megan (Spoiler, I know!). I didn't particularly see the point of Alexei but maybe he has some role in subsequent books? Overall, I enjoyed this book and am so in love with the writing, I feel like going back to Gallagher once again.

Honestly this book was a totally different tone from Ally Carter's other series (Heist Society and Gallagher Girls) but I loved it. It was fast paced and dealt with guilt in a way that was well done. I enjoyed the twist at the end and definitely felt that the main character's growth and realization at the end was well done.
Overall this was a good YA/Teen novel that had a twist at the end that I wasn't expecting, but going back I realize was there all along.

I really disliked this book. The characters were as annoying as they were underdeveloped and that is saying a lot. I found the depictions of embassy life to be completely unrealistic, there was virtually no plot, and the characters were as flat as a pancake. It inspired feelings if irritation and eye rolling and that is about it. Totally sucked.
