This book was a bit of a slow-burner, for me. After reading (and loving) TJR's previous novels, I felt a little bit disappointed at how long it took for me to get into this one – it actually took me a couple of months to finish it because I didnt have the urge to keep picking it up. However, when I got to the middle of the story, I really enjoyed it and it didnt take me long to finish it.
This is a story about family – more specifically, the power and love of siblings – and overall, I really enjoyed it.

This book was a masterpiece. I don’t know how TJR got me to love and hate so many characters in such a short amount of time! Their characterization is deep; the reader truly feels like they know each character at their core. The story is brutally sad, inspiring, alluring, and in the end, hopeful.

The climax of the party when Mick shows up is one of the most exciting few pages I have ever read. The whole book led up to a few pivotal, fascinating chapters towards the end and they were delicious and satisfying.

I loved it. TJR is my new writing idol. I don’t know how she does it but I wish I could be just like her.

Malibu rising was something special.
I loved how every sibling and member of the family had their own problems and struggles. It was great done by the author. The thing with changing the perspectives of different characters was done great and in general just this feeling you get when you read a book by Taylor Jenkins Read is just so special.
Nina’s story really hit me the most. The things she  did for her siblings and never lived a day in her life for her self was so heartbreaking, and it made me so happy that she run away.Just this bond between the siblings is so beautiful.I really enjoyed this book.

Great book even though I would have really loved to see more of what happened  after this day.But I would recommend this book 100%. :)
