Not as strong as the first one. Romance outcome was unsatisfying. Oddly, I feel like there's so much going on for the length. And at the same time, it felt like it dragged on forever, lost in "what do we do" land.

shes on the shortlist for fav authors but DAMN

if that third act didnt feel like a betrayal, i did NOT see the brenner possession twist coming and thats my sweet murder comedic relief i cant- and then the extended fighting between caliban and slate was PAINFUL

humans cant smell. i love the gnoles pretty unconditionally. im reading everything from this author and i already want to reread everything in this world.
