Didnt really love the POV switching bc part of the appeal from the first book was the fact that we didnt know how Wes felt. Not knowing how he felt added to the tension and uncertainty and build up which is what i LOVED in BTTM. But we probably needed the POVs for this book since it was exploring how they both felt post break-up.
I dont really like second chance romance/exes getting back together but it was nice to see Wes try his best and the real reason they had to split. But i do think Liz was dragging it out for a long time. She knew she loved him but would deny her feelings.
Also it felt a bit fanservicey and i did not like hearing Wes call Liz, my Liz. It lowkey felt kinda possessive and predatory... idk is that how guys really talk in their head? I honestly wouldn't want my partner to refer to me like that... and the descriptions of the kisses were a bit over the top sometimes. Also him growling all the time. Are we supposed to picture him to be a ferocious beast? You could just call him an aggressive kisser but like i guess its needed for readers to imagine the passion??? Idk if im crazy but i could do without it. I miss the Wes Bennett in BTTM.
Still love Lynn Painter's work! I enjoyed reading the story between Wes and Liz. Just had a few things i didnt really like in this book.
